We were like those who dream.

²Then our mouth was filled with laughter,

And our tongue with shouting for joy.

Then they said among the Gentiles,

“The Lord has done a great thing with these people.”

³The Lord acted in a great way with us,

And we became joyful.

⁴O Lord, reverse our captivity,

As torrents are restored in the south.

⁵Those who sow in tears

Will reap in joyful shouting.

⁶Just as he will go out weeping,

Carrying the seed to be scattered,

So he will certainly come back in joyful shouting,

Carrying his sheaves.
