Jeremiah Chapter 45

1The words which Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at Jeremiah's dictation in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, and said, 2“This is what the Lord God of Israel says to you, Baruch: 3‘You have said, «Oh woe is me, for the Lord has added grief to my sorrow. I have toiled in my sighing, and I have not found rest.» ’ 4This is what you will say to him: ‘This is what the Lord says: «Behold, what I have built, I will demolish, and what I have planted, I will pluck up, so doing to all that land. 5Now will you ask for great things for yourself? Do not ask for them, for I am about to bring harm on all flesh, says the Lord, but I will give you your life as spoil in all the places you go to.» ’ ”
